Ramadan Mubarak those of you who are celebrating. So, guys this Ramadan I decided to have a little homemade dessert known as stuffed almond coco dates (I like to call it). We usually eat the same in Ramadan as on normal days. No extra samosas or chips etc LOL. I thought why not try different healthy desserts with dates that are an essential part of Ramadan.
Try these super deliciously easy-to-make Ramadan desserts and you’ll be filled enough not to eat other desserts!!
Ingredients:
Medjool dates (or any other big, soft, and chewy dates)
Soaked Almonds/walnuts/macadamia/pecans nuts (almonds I used; you can use them without soaking as well)
Cocoa powder
Coconut oil
Maple syrup (or any other natural sweetner)
Preparations: ~15 min
This recipe can be made with chocolate chips as well if you just melt them and dip your almond-stuffed dates in them. I personally like cocoa powder better as I’d like to avoid chocolates as most dark chocolates turn out to be infected with heavy metals and many other impurities.
- Start with taking a bowl full of dates washed (I like to wash to peel off any extra handing peel on them)
- Start putting 1 almond in each date and put it together like a dumpling. Don’t worry date would close nicely. I personally soak all of my nuts as that’s the right of eating nuts and grains especially if you have trouble digesting them. Soaking takes away that culprit known as phytic acid 🙂
- Next, I prepare my chocolate-like mixture with culinary-grade cocoa powder and coconut oil (use coconut oil as it’ll freeze quickly and melt quickly in your mouth as well).
- I just eyeball the thickness of it. I personally like to keep it to little thick so I can coat the thicker layer on the date which gives such a fine chocolaty and nutty taste.
- Put it in the freezer for like 15 min and put the whole date in your mouth and thank me late 🙂
